This is BETA. There are a few gaps and oddities in the theme.
Includes:

  • Ubuntu Software Center

Requirements:
  • Gnome 3.6 *if you are using the Gnome Desktop

  • Gtk3-3.6*

  • gtk-engine-murrine-0.98.1.1(or newer)

  • pixbuf-engine or the gtk(2)-engines package

  • gnome-themes-standard-3.6.*(provides the 'adwaita' theme)

Installation:
  • Ubuntu, Linux Mint, & Ubuntu derivatives:
  • To add this PPA:
    - Copy and Paste the following in a terminal -
    For 12.10 Quantal Quetzal:
      sudo add-apt-repository ppa:killhellokitty/themes.ppa
      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get install delorean-light-theme-3.6
    For 13.04 Raring Ringtail:

  • should download the version (delorean-light-theme-3.6) from the top of this page. Unzip the archive, and copy the delorean-light-theme-3.6 folder to /usr/share/themes/ *This theme can not be installed in ~/.themes. It will not work properly when installed within this directory!

Fixes:
Ubuntu Software Center: Make certain that you have the delorean-light-theme-3.6 installed in '/usr/share/themes/' before you continue.
    1. First backup the original files. In terminal with root(administrator) privileges type the following:
    sudo cp /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/css/softwarecenter.css /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/css/softwarecenter.css.Original

    sudo cp /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/art/stipple.png /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/art/stipple.png.Original

    2. Copy over the new files. In terminal with root(administrator) privileges type the following:
    sudo cp /usr/share/themes/delorean-light-theme-3.6/Software-Center/softwarecenter.css /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/css/softwarecenter.css

    sudo cp /usr/share/themes/delorean-light-theme-3.6/Software-Center/stipple.png /usr/share/software-center/ui/gtk3/art/stipple.png

LinuxMint & Ubuntu with Unity: Slow Window Animations. Should you experience problems with window opening and closing animation the fix is to remove the 'metacity-theme-3.xml' file from the included 'metacity-1' folder.

Changelog:

Wonderful theme... thanks!  There is one big problem in the game Four-in-a-row:  The playing grids changes size with every play.  Very distracting, and I cannot figure out how to fix it.

I love this theme but something annoying is blach thus invisible fonts in a kind of graphical menu. Is it a bug or am I missing something?

I am not sure what you are referring to. The fonts in this theme are usually black-ish. What graphical menu are you having trouble with?

It's hard to explain the menu, actually the problem is that the background of the menu is black and the fonts too hence the problem.

I can send you a picture with the type of menus I refer to. For instance, if you open VLC and go to tools->preferences you get a new Window. In there is an option menu called "Force Window Style". If you click there any option is invisible. You have to put the mouse over each of them to make them visible.

As I said, the theme is great, but I find it very heavy on hardware not recent. There is a way to make a benchmark to different gtk3 themes?

I changed the window theme to Ambiance RefinedIII, keeping everything else as suggested and it removed all of the lag.

It is a shame, but it matches decently and everything is performing well now.

running ubuntu-12.04 and Cinnamon.

The background image causes this theme to be heavy. Its the trade-off for having the metallic background image. As for benchmarking, I seem to recall an app that did that for gtk2 years and years ago. I have know idea what it is, or if it still even exists. Metacity, however come with a built in benchmark app.
